The event in Ljubno is famously known among the female jumpers from all over the world as one of the most beautiful competition venues of FIS Ski Jumping World Cup Ladies. This reputation was not won merely due to an excellent event organisation, but also because of the atmosphere that passionate fans of ski jumping create.
Each year, they come to the foot of the Rajhovka hill in great numbers and passionately cheer for the competitors, making sure each and every single one of them feels welcome, full of energy, pride, and enthusiasm in the Upper Savinja Valley.
The majority of visitors is represented by our girls' fan groups, who have been growing with our competitors since the start of their careers. Excellent physical condition is not the only important aspect that a professional athlete needs to consider; they need to think about their flawless state of mind, as well. That is why proud and zealous family members and friends present an important part of athletes' lives. They are the driving force of every fan group, making sure there is a right amount of energy, strength, and enthusiasm in their everyday challenges.
With our female eagles achieving top results and winning medals, the zeal of their fans started growing, as well. Fan groups, established around our athletes during the past few years, are welcoming new members of all ages every day. Besides family members, they are mostly represented by friends and fellow townsmen who together with the girls delight in their every effort and achievement. Mostly, they use organised bus transportation to get to competitions nearby or they gather in front of television screens in local pubs when competitions like this year's Olympic Games in South Korea take place far away.
Coming to the competition in Ljubno, the fans will be arriving in by far the largest numbers ever. Well-equipped with national flags, wooden ratchets, and above all well-trained vocal chords, they will definitely be hard to miss. A lot of people are proud to say that Slovene fans are famous for their loudest cheering all over the world, and this just may be that final touch the girls need to put some extra wind beneath their wings.
